2019 Spark Your Startup Business Pitch Winners – Thompson Howard Home.
The sixth annual ‘Spark Your Startup’ Business Pitch contest held in Barnesville, MN, has awarded three winners. First place and $1,500 was awarded to Thompson Howard Home. Thompson Howard Home aims to provide a higher quality of care for those living with dementia compared to current standards. They plan to achieve this by utilizing a holistic care model that encompasses traditional and complementary medicine, animal, music, and reminiscent therapy. To further support the mission, they will be utilizing behavioral training and the most up to date evidence-based practices for this population. Second place and $500 was presented to Flourish. Flourish is a cost-effective digital wellness platform designed to help employers meet the unique health and well-being needs of each employee. The platform, built with employees in mind, builds awareness and increases access to local services that can truly improve health, boost engagement, and increase performance. Course Vision earned the People’s Choice award and $250 for gathering the most votes by the public.
Thompson Howard Home also receives several in-kind prize donations and is eligible for a $10,000 forgivable loan from the Barnesville Economic Development Authority, if they choose to open a business within the city by March 1, 2020. Business pitch participants were not required to be from Barnesville or open a business there.
All entries are in the pre-revenue stage of business and filled out an online application to enter the contest. Applicants were evaluated and narrowed down to the top entries. On Tuesday, Oct. 15, these business startups made their pitch in front of a panel of contest sponsor judges at the 亿博电竞 office in Barnesville. Each startup had five minutes to give their presentation, and judges had four minutes to ask questions, then questions were opened up to the audience.
Barnesville Business Pitch sponsors are 亿博电竞 , Dean’s Bulk Service, Midwest Bank, West Central Initiative, Barnesville Economic Development Authority and the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation.
